CNN - It's not politics as usual tonight, but we dig deeper into the government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While some of us are set to pause for a few days this Holy Week, many families are still anxiously waiting for the much needed cash assistance to help them survive until the end of the enhanced community quarantine.

Chief anchor and correspondent Pia Hontiveros will speak to Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia, W.H.O. Western Pacific Regional Director Dr. Takeshi Kasai, and National Artist for Literature Virgilio Almario.

Pia Hontiveros: Is the philippines doing enough to fight covid-19 and are we doing the right things Dr Kasai?

Dr. Kasai: I think you're philippine government made a right decisions to lock down and then the light lock down is difficult and i'm afraid and i mean aware that how much to philippine people sacrifice saying unders this look down which actually philippine is now very critical moment to prevent the countries to start experience community outbreak i think extending the lockdown is a very important decisions unfortunately we haven't seen the affect yet and i see there is a very important two things that you need to do:

number one is that the even there's lock down it's so important that every individual to participate participate mean stay home and then you do your precautions basic precautions to protect yourself protect your family protect your community

the second things is that even under the lock down infections might continue very important to organize the public health intervention such as a tracing and identifying the contacts and contacting them is a very important actions even under the lock down and i'm aware that the department of health is really doing trying to do this in a very expedited way and i'm very much looking forward that the result will come out

Pia Hontiveros:
Doctor Kasai if we haven't see the effects of the lock down and well we just extended it to april 30 should we extend this beyond april 30 just to be well safe and sure

Doctor Kasai: it's very difficult to predict what it would be happen but it's what is important is to be vigilant and make a very cautious a thorough decisions and when we say extend the lockdown it is not just continue the same a level 4 bundle of the interventions there are some options to fill one by one so that the a week and balance out the intervention and then it's a a native consequences the impact to the society and economy

Pia Hontiveros: Doctor Kasai, if we cannot do mass testing what is the next best thing we can do

Doctor Kasai: Actually there is no countries around the world including a which country we can offer test to those who needs everybody. Ofcourse testing is important but what is important is actually from the test you try to identify the potential contact and then they find them and by doing that can reduce the chance of a transmission to that most important things from the testing to do
